Briefly

Skyler Simnitt joined the Economic Research Service (ERS) in July 2019, as part of the first contingent to work in Kansas City after the agency relocated from Washington D.C. He currently works as a research economist with the Crops Branch in the Market and Trade Economics Division. His research interests include agribusiness, production, food loss and waste, labor, development, and econometrics. His current duties at ERS also include managing the Citrus Outlook report.

Education

Skyler received his Ph.D. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida in 2019. He also has an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Florida, and a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Brigham Young University.
