Overview
Increased scrutiny from policymakers and consumers is changing how the animal pharmaceutical industry develops and sells its drugs, which in turn, can affect agricultural production and meat prices. In recent years, antibiotics sales for U.S. and EU food-animal production have shown declines, even as demand for food-animal products has increased.
