Sophia Tanner joined the Conservation and Environment Branch of the Resource and Rural Economics Division at ERS in March 2020 as a Research Agricultural Economist. Prior to joining ERS, Sophia was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Arizona, where she worked on issues relating to forest restoration in the Southeast. Her research focuses on impacts of wildfires on recreation and the supply and demand of ecosystem services provision from private working land, and her interests include using non-market valuation techniques to understand the impacts of conservation policy and producer decisions on the public.
