Briefly

Roberto Mosheim is a research economist in the Structure, Technology, and Productivity Branch in the Resource and Rural Economics Division of USDA's Economic Research Service (ERS). His work tends to revolve around the intersection of productivity theory and the impact of environmental issues in U.S. agriculture. Much of his published work has examined the relationships among efficiency, organization type, structural change, and scale economies in, for example, the dairy sector, the drinking water industry, and, before coming to ERS, the international coffee market. He has particular expertise in data development in, for example, the Agricultural Resource Management Survey Phase II used to construct ERS's chemical use accounts. His current work also encompasses the role of chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizer, as well as of precision agriculture, in U.S. agricultural productivity. 

Education

Roberto earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
