Briefly

Marcelo Castillo is a research economist in the Rural Economy Branch of the Resource and Rural Economics Division. He joined ERS in August 2016. His fields of specialization are international migration, international trade, and labor economics; his research focuses on the effects of immigration on the receiving country's economic outcomes.

Education

Marcelo holds a Ph.D. and Masters in economics from Purdue University and B.S. in economics from Grand Valley State University.
