Briefly
Erik Dohlman is the domestic baseline (long-term projections) coordinator in the Agricultural Policy and Models Branch, Market and Trade Economics Division, at the USDA, Economic Research Service (ERS).
Background
Erik joined the Economic Research Service in 1999 as a research economist in the Field Crops Branch, conducting research on international trade policy, agricultural competitiveness, and the effects of U.S. farm policy. Before becoming chief of the Animal Products and Cost of Production Branch in 2011, he served as acting chief of the Field Crops Branch, was a senior cross-commodity analyst in the Specialty Crops Branch, and served as agency liaison on several interagency committees, most notably on Bioenergy. Erik spent almost 4 years at the Farm Service Agency as director of the Fibers, Peanuts, and Tobacco Analysis group (reorganized into the Farm Programs and Conservation Business Center) before returning to ERS in September 2019.
Education
Erik received his Ph.D. in Political Economy and Public Policy from the University of Southern California. He has a Master’s degree in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University.
