Background
Elizabeth joined ERS in March 2020. Before joining ERS, she was a postdoctoral scholar in the area of regional economic growth and development with the Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development at Penn State University. She also worked as a research assistant and postdoctoral research associate for the Center for Regional Development at Purdue University. Her research interest is spatial economic analysis, particularly pertaining to health, demography, and communities.
Education
Elizabeth holds a Ph.D. and a M.S. in agricultural economics from Purdue University specializing in space, health, and population economics. She also holds a B.S. in economics, a B.A. in geography, and a minor in mathematics from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities.
