Briefly

Bryan Pratt is a research agricultural economist in the Conservation and Environment Branch of the Resource and Rural Economics Division at USDA’s Economic Research Service. His primary areas of research include the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), and adoption and persistence of conservation practices, such as cover cropping. Fundamental issues include understanding program participation and practice adoption, as well as the impacts of programs on the landscape and participation in other programs and adoption of other practices.

Dr. Pratt received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2019 and his bachelor's degree in international affairs and economics from George Washington University in 2013. Prior research includes work studying the behavior of residential water consumers in response to drought policies, particularly demand management.
